Report Ideas

Hi Joe,

I am struggling to pick a question to base my report on, some ideas I have got for possibilities are:

• Does Video Game Violence Have An Impact On Crime?
• Does Video Game Violence Have An Impact On Children's Behaviour?
• Is Video Game Age Rating Strict Enough?

Read/Write = 10
Kinesthetic = 5

In my learning and skills development lecture I took a VARK questionnaire which stands for,  Visual, Aural, Read/Write and Kinesthetic. I found out that I am a Read/Write type of learner, this means that I learn better by reading through books and writing.

I was expecting this outcome as I tend to learn better through this learning style, another learning style for example Visual I have never really been able to learn by as it involves mainly looking through pictures, graphs and being able to visually remember things.

I have tried in the past to learn different ways but I have just never been able to come to grips with different learning styles, I have found out that I can only learn by reading and writing as it helps me to think about what I have to write while I am reading.

SWOT Analysis

This post is my SWOT analysis.

Strengths

• Firstly I am able to listen and know strengths and weaknesses in groups.

• Next I am able to collect, record and handle data

• Another strength is that I can skim read, spell, punctuate and use appropriate grammar.

• My last strength is that I can demonstrate basic word process, use emails and more.

Weaknesses

• One of my major weaknesses is presentations (oral communication)

• I sometimes find it hard to contribute in small groups.

• Lastly I don't know how to reference properly and know about plagiarism and collusion.

Opportunities

• One opportunity is that I am able to learn a different range of skills involved in computer games development.

• Another opportunity is that I can make new friends while at university.

Threats

• My first threat to me is that university fees could rise.

• Another threat is not being able to keep up with assignments and handing them in on time.

About Me

Hi my name is Ash, I am 18 years old and I am studying Computer Games Development at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford.

I could not decide on what I wanted to do when I was older until the last minute and would never have thought that I would be going to university a year ago. I have always been interested in this pathway but never thought I would have the opportunity to do it.

I like different sports such as football, darts and formula 1. The football team I support is Chelsea and have been since I was 5. I enjoy hanging out with friends and playing mario kart on the wii with family and friends.
